Free AI Reddit Post Generator
A Reddit post generator turns what you know into a post a subreddit will actually upvote. This one is built around a single rule: the post has to survive the mention-deletion test. Delete every sentence naming your product, and what is left must still be worth reading. Each generated post comes with a rule-based promo-heaviness score so you can see how a moderator would read it before you submit it. No signup, three free generations a day. VoicePost (voicepo.st) runs the whole ban-safe Reddit playbook for founders: an age-calibrated warmup, the 9:1 guardrail, and a daily plan of what to post where.
The rule this runs on: delete every sentence that names your product, and the post must still be worth reading. If it collapses without the mention, it was an advert.
How it works
You give it three things: what you are promoting, where you plan to post, and the value you can genuinely share. Only the third one becomes the post. The first is context the model is told to keep in the background, and the second sets the register, because a post that lands in r/PostgreSQL would get downvoted in r/SideProject and the other way round.
Then two things happen that no other free Reddit generator does. The post is scanned for links, product mentions and call-to-action language, which is what moderators actually react to, and scored 0 to 100 for promo heaviness. And the mention-deletion test is run for real: every sentence naming your product is stripped out and you are shown what survives.
The mention-deletion test, stated plainly
Delete every sentence that names your product. If the post still teaches something, tells something, or asks something a stranger would answer, it passes. If it collapses, it was an advert wearing a story, and Reddit is unusually good at spotting the difference. This is the single most useful filter in Reddit promotion, because it converts a fuzzy judgment call into a thing you can check in ten seconds.
Six post formulas that work on Reddit
Fill in the blanks. Every one of these leads with the value and leaves the product as a footnote, which is exactly the shape the generator writes to.
- The teardown. “We had [specific bad number]. We changed [one thing]. It is now [specific better number]. Here is what we tried first that did not work.” The failed attempt is what makes it credible.
- The postmortem. “[Thing] broke in production for [duration]. The cause was [unglamorous detail]. Here is the timeline and what we changed.” Nothing earns goodwill on Reddit faster than admitting a stupid mistake in detail.
- The comparison nobody wrote. “I tried [3 to 5 options] for [job]. Here is what each one is actually good at, including the one I stopped using.” It only works if your own thing is not the winner.
- The number dump. “[Timeframe] of [activity], here are the real numbers.” Then the numbers, including the embarrassing ones. Small numbers outperform big ones because they are relatable.
- The genuine question. “We are stuck on [specific problem]. We have tried [A, B, C] and here is why each failed. What are we missing?” A real question, not a rhetorical one, and you have to be prepared to be told you are wrong.
- The resource. “I compiled [list] for [audience]. Here it is, in the post, no link.” Putting the whole thing in the post body rather than behind a link is the difference between a contribution and a funnel.
Six title formulas
Reddit titles are not headlines. They are the whole pitch, and the product name never belongs in them.
- The specific number: “We cut [metric] by [number] by [action]”
- The confession: “I spent [time] on [thing] before realising [obvious thing]”
- The contrarian: “[Common advice] did not work for us. Here is what did.”
- The teardown: “What [duration] of [activity] actually cost us”
- The plain question: “How are you handling [specific problem] at [scale]?”
- The resource: “[Number] [things] for [audience], compiled”
What kills engagement
- A link in the post body. Most subreddits treat the link as the promotion, whatever the text around it says.
- The product name in the title. This is the fastest possible removal.
- Marketing voice. Polished copy reads as an agency post. Reddit rewards the register of someone typing into a text box at 11pm.
- Cross-posting the same text. Identical posts across subreddits is a recognised spam pattern. Rewrite per community and spread them across days.
- A profile that is all product. Moderators moderate the account, not the post. Reddit's own guidance is roughly nine non-promotional contributions per promotional one; check yours with the ban risk checker.
- Posting from a brand-new account. Age and karma gates filter you before a human ever sees the post. The karma and warmup calculator shows what your account can safely do today.
- Vanishing after posting. A post you do not reply to reads as a drop. The comments are where the post is actually won.
Where this fits in the rules
The 9:1 rule comes from Reddit's 2014 moderator clarification of its self-promotion guidance, extends the older ten percent guideline in Reddit's self-promotion wiki, and survives in Reddit's current small-business posting guide as “be a user first”. None of it is automated: a moderator opens your profile and skims. A good post cannot rescue a bad profile, which is why the account-level tools matter more than this one. The full playbook is in how to promote your SaaS on Reddit without getting banned, and the room-by-room breakdown is in the best subreddits to promote a SaaS.
What a free generator cannot do
It does not know your account age, your karma, which subreddits already removed you, or how many product mentions your profile is carrying this month. It writes one good post. Whether that post is safe to submit today is an account-level question, and this tool cannot answer it.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this Reddit post generator free?
- Yes. Three generations per day, no account, no email address and no credit card. The cap exists because each generation costs real model tokens, not because there is an upgrade step hidden inside the tool.
- Will this post get me banned from a subreddit?
- The generator writes value-first posts with no links and no call to action, which removes the two things moderators react to fastest. What it cannot see is your account history, and that is what actually gets people removed: a profile that is mostly product mentions fails the skim no matter how good one post is.
- What is the mention-deletion test?
- Delete every sentence that names your product. If the post still teaches, tells or asks something worth reading, it passes. If it collapses into nothing, it was an advert wearing a story. The meter under each generated post runs this check and shows you exactly what survives.
- How promotional is too promotional?
- Reddit's own guidance is the 9:1 rule: roughly nine non-promotional contributions for every one that promotes you. Within a single post, the working limit is one product mention, late, with no link. The promo-heaviness meter scores links, mentions and call-to-action language so you can see where a draft sits before you post it.
- Does this work as a Reddit thread or story template?
- It works well for the confessional and lessons-learned formats those subreddits run on, since it is built to lead with events rather than claims. It is not built for fiction, and it will not invent a story for you: it only shapes something you actually did into a post.
- Can I use it as a fake Reddit post generator for mockups?
- It generates real post text, not screenshots, so you can paste the output into a mockup. It will not fabricate usernames, karma counts or comment threads, and it will not invent numbers or customers you did not give it.
- Does it post to Reddit for me?
- No, and it never connects to your Reddit account. You copy the title and body and submit them yourself.
- Which subreddit should I target?
- The one whose regulars have the problem you solved, not the one with the most members. Builder communities like r/SideProject and r/microsaas tolerate journey posts; large general subreddits remove promotional content aggressively. Read the sidebar rules and the pinned posts before you write anything.
By hand vs with VoicePost
You can do all of this yourself. Here is what it takes to keep it up every day, and what VoicePost handles for you.
| By hand | With VoicePost | |
|---|---|---|
| Writing the post | Drafting, rereading, and quietly wondering whether it reads as an advert. | Value-first drafts written so the product mention can be removed and the post still stands. |
| Knowing if it is safe to post today | Guessing from account age and karma, then finding out the hard way. | An age-calibrated warmup plan tells you what your real account can safely do today. |
| Staying inside the 9:1 rule | Counting product mentions across every subreddit by hand, and recounting as the window moves. | Your ratio is tracked automatically and you are warned before a promo would break it. |
| Picking the room | Reading sidebars one at a time and hoping the rules have not changed since. | A daily plan of what to post where, matched to the subreddits that tolerate your kind of post. |
